The Challenge

Hot, Aggressive Liquors,
Abrasive Crystals.

Metal salts and inorganic chemicals are made in hot, aggressive liquors (sulphuric and hydrochloric acid, caustic, saturated brine) loaded with abrasive crystals. DFR Technical Textiles supplies filter press cloths in PP, polyester and polyamide that keep their dimensions and pore size through thermal cycling, wear slowly under crystal abrasion and release a dry cake.

Three Problems
We Are Asked to Fix.

Problem

Hot acidic or alkaline liquors

How our cloth helps

PP for acid and caustic below 90 °C, polyester and PA for hotter duties. Every cloth is heat-set, so it keeps its dimensions and pore size through thermal cycling.

Problem

Crystals wearing the cloth

How our cloth helps

Heavy multifilament and twill constructions put more yarn on the face, so abrasive metal-salt crystals wear the cloth slowly and evenly instead of cutting it.

Problem

Brine sludge and gypsum blinding

How our cloth helps

Monofilament and calendered faces resist blinding by fine sludge and gypsum, and release a drier cake at the end of each cycle.

Process Position

Where DFR
Adds Value.

Our cloths work at the clarifying and sludge presses that protect the crystalliser and the product.

Dissolution

Ore, scrap or salt is dissolved in hot acid or caustic.

Clarifying Press

DFR cloths remove insolubles before the liquor reaches the crystalliser.

Crystallisation

Clear liquor is crystallised by cooling or evaporation.

Separation

Crystals are separated from the mother liquor.

Sludge Press

DFR cloths dewater brine and neutralisation sludge.

Three Filtration Duties

Clear, insoluble-free liquor pouring from a pipe into a stainless steel tank

Clarifying Press Cloths

Sulphate, chloride & nitrate liquors

  • Chemical-resistant PP and PET
  • Stable pore size above 90 °C in PET and PA
  • Bright, insoluble-free liquor
  • Heavy twill face resists abrasion
  • Sealed edges, gasketed option

Brine & Gypsum Sludge Cloths

Chlor-alkali, neutralisation

  • Non-blinding monofilament face
  • Drier sludge cake per cycle
  • Resists caustic and hypochlorite
  • Long runs between wash-downs
  • Lower disposal weight

Crystal Recovery Cloths

Metal salt isolation

  • Retains the fine crystal fraction
  • Clean release of crystalline cake
  • Efficient wash to low mother liquor
  • Even wear under sharp crystals
  • Longer cloth life

The Case for DFR

Why Choose DFR Filter Press Cloths
for Inorganic & Metal-Salt Plants?

Hot Acid & Caustic

PP, PET and PA graded to temperature and chemistry.

Abrasion Resistance

Heavy constructions wear slowly under crystal attack.

Non-Blinding

Monofilament faces shed brine sludge and gypsum.

Drier Cake

Permeability matched to your slurry for lower moisture.

Woven & Stitched In-House

Yarn to finished cloth in one facility in Gujarat, supplying inorganic chemical and metal-salt plants.

Cut to Your Drawing

Recessed, membrane, plate & frame or CGR. Standard sizes from stock.

Inorganic Chemicals & Metal Salts

Hot acid. Sharp crystals.
Longer cloth life.

Send us your press make and plate size, the liquor and its temperature, and whether the duty is clarification, crystal recovery or sludge. We will propose a construction for it.
